I know I’ve had several Christmas type posts already, but I have not forgotten Thanksgiving. I love this time of year, and all of the holidays that are coming, but I am especially thankful for Thanksgiving. I love the family time! I try to keep an attitude of thankfulness all year, but this special Thanksgiving month I make extra effort to count my blessings every day. I found this blank wood pumpkin at Hobby Lobby. You could use any shape or size wood. I love the look of the wood burning just on the blank, plain wood. I wanted it to say “In all things give thanks” which is inspiration from scripture. ( 1 Thessalonians 5:18 “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” ) I love the simple reminder.
Here’s what you’ll need to make your own Give Thanks sign:
- Wood Pumpkin shape, or wood plaque
- Wood burning tool (I love my Creative Versa-Tool)
- Printable Give Thanks pdf (free for your personal use)
- Graphite Transfer paper
Step one:
Print out the pdf file for the Give Thanks sign. This graphic is available free for your personal use, if you click and download please do not sell this image or use it on items you plan to sell.

Step two:
Use Graphite Transfer paper to trace the design onto your wood surface. Use masking tape to hold the papers in place.
Step three:
Use your wood burning tool to burn the design into the wood surface. I prefer the rounded flow point tool tip, but you can use whichever tip you are comfortable using.
Step Four:
Add any extra details you wish to add. I used the shading tool tip to fill in some of the pumpkins stem, and draw leaves on the pumpkin.
Hang your sign, or display on a table for a beautiful reminder to Give Thanks!
