Make this adorable Retro Wood Disneyland Sign
We have some serious Disney fans around here. It’s in the blood and we wouldn’t change a thing! My sweet sister in law is about to add another little Disney fan to the family in a few months. We’re anxiously awaiting the new little guy. She is decorating his sweet nursery with retro Disney stuff, which is amazing. I wanted to make something fun related to her nursery theme, so he would know how much his aunt loves him! After thinking about it for awhile, I decided to use one of my favorite old Disney Pins as inspiration. I love pins, and have a few, but this one would make the perfect Retro Wood Disneyland Sign.

Here’s what you’ll need to make your own Disneyland sign:
- Walnut Hollow Basswood Rectangle Plaque 16×20
- Walnut Hollow Creative Versa-Tool® wood burner
- Acrylic Craft Paint and/or Wood Stain
- Glamour Dust Gold Glitter Paint
- Paint Brushes
- Graphite Transfer Paper
Print the Disneyland sign in a 16×20 inch size. You can bring the graphic to an office supply store like Staples to have them print it that big for you. Download the graphic by clicking the .pdf link below the image. Free for your personal use only, please.
Use the Creative Versa-Tool® wood burner to burn the design into the wood plaque. The burned lines will add dimension to the finished sign and act as an outline for the paint. I really like the Flow Point tip for projects like this.
Stain the wood and add some Pixie Dust shimmer! I used an aged oak stain around the sign, and then I added some fun Glamour Dust Gold paint around each letter on the sign, and around the outside edge of the board. What Disneyland sign would be complete without a little Pixie Dust magic?
Add a few command strips or hanging hardware to the back, and you’re all finished.
I’m so happy with how it turned out! I hope that she and her sweet little guy like it!
Is your family Disney obsessed too? Disney crafts are one of my favorite things! I made this fun storage crate with Walnut Hollow for our Disney Tsum Tsum collection awhile back. It’s still one of our favorite projects!
