I’ve been pretty absent from the blogging world lately! I went back to work full time back in August when the school year started. Shortly after going back to work, I received an awesome promotion. AND as if that wasn’t enough, just after that our house sold, and we moved! Fantastic as far as job and house news were concerned, but not so great for blogging! I have struggled to find nearly as much time as I’d like to spend here. But I haven’t given up yet, and I’m still here!
I have been working on my craft room in the new house. We’ve had a few setbacks, like an unexpected flood, and of course the large amounts of time spent at my actual job, but it’s nearly finished now. And I’m sooo in love with the space! I’m still adding some finishing touches, but I promise I will share a tour of the completed room soon. In the meantime, I wanted to share one of the smaller craft room projects I completed recently.
My Cricut is one of my favorite crafting tools! I’ve posted lots about it here before. It has it’s very own new space in my new craft room. In fact, my Cricut stuff takes up a very large portion of space! I struggled to figure out tool storage though. I was going to put them on pegboards because I used pegboards a ton in the Craft Shack, and I have several in the new craft room too. But I decided this space needed something more unique and fun than a tired old pegboard.
I found some awesome wood Hexagons from Walnut Hollow, and turned them into fun, and functional tool storage for all my Cricut tools!
Supplies needed to make Tool holding Hexagons:
- Walnut Hollow Hexagon Wall Decor
- Paint, and Paint Brushes
- Screw in Hooks
- Mounting hardware
- Cricut Tools

The first step is to paint or stain your wood Hexagons. I am trying to add color to my craft room in lots of different ways, so I chose to paint my hexagons in several shades of Purple.

After your paint is completely dry, screw the metal hooks into the back of the wood.

Add as many or as few hooks to each Hexagon as you’d like! In the smaller Hexagon, I only put three hooks in, but in one of the bigger ones I have as many as 7 hooks!

Use mounting hardware, or command strips to attach your hexagons to the wall. Hang your tools from the hooks, and enjoy!

Do you have a fun way to store your Cricut tools? I’d love to hear about it!
