Budget Bathroom Makeover

I gave the kids bathroom a little budget bathroom makeover recently! Nothing really fancy, just some cosmetic changes. It is amazing how much better it looks and feels now though!

This is the bathroom before. Nothing special. The previous owners did a terrible job with the white painted cabinets, the walls were plain white, and there was a giant builder grade mirror on the wall. Very functional. Very boring! Sadly the floor hasn’t been changed yet, but it’s on the list!

I started with the mirror. This is my favorite part! I used these small glass tiles from Lowes. It took five sheets to go around the mirror completely 3 tiles deep.

I used Power Grab All Purpose Clear Construction Adhesive
This glue is fantastic. Seriously my favorite glue for so many around the house projects! It dries clear, and held the tiles to the mirror without any need to secure them while it dried. I peeled the tiles off the netting and set them side by side all the way around. I did not need to cut any tiles, they fit the 60″ x 42″ mirror perfectly!
After the tiles were all set and the glue was dried I caulked around the inside edge which hid the tile edges well. Using painters tape to get a straight line, and then removing it immediately after smoothing out the caulk is an amazing trick!

I love how it turned out!

Now it was time to add a little color with the paint! I only pained the wall opposite the mirror. I chose the color “Nautical” from Valspar.
Instead of the towel bar we added towel hooks. So far the kids have been hanging their towels
every time! No more towels on the floor!

I found this awesome wall decor in the clearance section at Hobby Lobby!
I added my own beachy printables.

The bottle printable was found here It was available free for personal use or you can donate to her great cause for her great work. I changed the printed color just a little, it’s an amazing graphic!

I love how it turned out! I bought the shower curtain, towels and rugs at Target. The sea glass bowl, and the wall decor were from Hobby Lobby. I purchased an assortment of pretty sea shells to put in the sea glass bowl online at amazon with the link here.

I really love these cast iron sea horse wall hooks I found online (here) too! Aren’t they adorable? And they match so perfectly!
The total cost for the new look came in at about $150! Not too bad! The floor is on the hit list to be tackled soon!
